What is CBD and what can it help with?
CBD is one of many cannabinoids found in cannabis, with a wide range of benefits and uses- most notably the ability to relax and soothe the user. It is the most common compound found in cannabis, is the most researched and is generally considered the safest. Unlike THC, the second most common compound in cannabis, CBD doesn't cause intoxication, it's psychoactive enough to reduce anxiety, but won’t get you high like THC does. Some report it produces the same contentment with life that getting high on THC does, without the uneasiness and paranoia that many people experience.
Most people report relief of pain and anxiety, a sense of calm, overall improvement in mood and higher quality of life after taking CBD. It’s versatile too, with high doses inducing tiredness and sleep, and lower doses reported to make people more alert.
On top of these benefits, CBD has been proven as an effective treatment for these conditions:
- Epilepsy
- Insomnia
- Anxiety
- Depression
- PTSD
- Psychosis
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- Side effects from chemotherapy
- Parkinson’s
- Chronic pain caused by inflammation
- Neuropathic (nerve) pain
But with so many ways to consume CBD, why choose vaping?
It's the fastest acting way to consume CBD
When you inhale CBD through your lungs it only takes 5-20 minutes to feel the effects, making it the method with the fastest onset of relief. Consumables can take up to an hour to take effect, which when you're in a lot of pain, or very anxious, can feel like a lifetime. On top of this, you usually need a week of taking it regularly to feel the full effects.
With vaping, you don't have to commit to a daily routine of consuming CBD, as you often need to do with oils or other consumables, you can take it as you please. This can be helpful if you don't experience symptoms everyday, for example people taking CBD for anxiety they only get in certain situations.
In addition to being absorbed more quickly, inhalation increases the bioavailability of the compound, meaning you absorb more CBD, and feel the effects more intensely, from the same dosage than if you had taken it by another method. And whilst there is still much more to learn about how vaping affects the lungs, vaping is considered to be much safer than smoking, whilst producing similar effects.
It's easy to use on the go, and less obvious than other methods
Many methods of CBD consumption are unfortunately not exactly subtle. Many people may prefer oils you hold under the tongue, but don't like the attention it can attract in public, or in the office. Others may prefer to smoke flower, but are worried about it being mistaken for illegal high THC cannabis. This is where vaping can be perfect. It is estimated around 6% of people in the UK vape, equating to around 2.7 million people, so you can easily vape CBD and not attract any attention.
Plenty of range of products
Vaping is quickly becoming one of the most popular ways of consuming CBD, meaning there's a wide range of products available, with thousands of different flavours and brands. There’s the option of full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolates as well as a wide range of dosages and strengths. At Inspired Life, we have both liquid you can put in a reusable vape, and mix with nicotine containing liquid if you wish, or if you want to just dip your toes in, we sell 150mg disposable vapes.
It can help with quitting nicotine
Many people have chosen vaping CBD to help them get off nicotine, with many finding it more beneficial than using vape liquid containing no nicotine or CBD, as it still satisfies the habit of having something to smoke but gives you calming CBD effects aswell, helping to deal with the side effects of nicotine withdrawal. In fact, Rob, the owner of Inspired Life, has recently managed nearly a month of no nicotine after 10 years of daily use, thanks to replacing his regular vape with our disposables.
